As a traditional pub The George at Burpham is a fine place to drop into for a pint where you can enjoy the relaxed bar and cosy sofa and chairs, nestled around a wood-burning stove. You can sample a range of drinks that include Sussex ales, champagne from Nyetimber Vineyard, Blackdown Gin, Vermouth and Spirits – as well as locally produced soft drinks.
The wine list has been created with the help of a local Master of Wines, and includes a mix of popular and rare grape varieties – as well as those which are currently fashionable. If you are in any doubt about which wine will suit your meal, please ask and we will be pleased to help.
Our beers change regularly but currently include Hammerpot Brewery’s Red Hunter, Harveys’ Best Bitter, Long Man Brewery’s Crafty Blonde, Horsham Best, Sussex Gold as well as draught Guinness, Aspall’s Cider, Beck’s Vier,
San Miguel and our house lager: ‘By George, it’s Lager!’ at less than £4 a pint.
New Season, New Wines – from Around the World
The George and its wine partner Hennings of Pulborough are introducing no less than nine new wines to its wine list from Easter. With four whites from Italy, France, Spain and New Zealand, two reds from Argentina and Australia and a rosé from Portugal . . . we have truly explored the globe.
Oh, and two new sparkling wines from our Sussex friends at Wiston Estates join many of our old favourites. These new wines will be highlighted on our updated wine lists as soon as they are available.
