hilst maintaining its long established charm, The George emerged from a winter refurbishment on 13th January looking years younger! A new colour scheme, new architectural features and a multitude of new accessories were part of a makeover that also included practical improvements such as new seat covers, newly polished flooring and additional state of the art kitchen equipment. Come and see for yourself . .

Gala Charity Evening

nce again we are holding our annual Gala Charity Evening on Wednesday March 8th, when we pass on the charity donations we have received from our customers over the past year to our chosen charities.
If you are looking to take part or even if you are unable to attend, then you could certainly help us by donating an auction item to aid us towards beating last year's grand total of £7,955.

A silent auction will be held to boost the fund total. Prizes include:
A modernist painting of 'SS Great Britain' with the port of Bristol behind;
A piece of artwork by Mike Payne
     (his fourth year of donating,
     for which we are most grateful)
2 hospitality tickets to a premiership match at Twickenham Stoop.
A special menu will be featured on the evening so book your table HERE.

Gin Evening, 22nd Feb

he George will be transformed into Hogarth's 'Gin Lane' for one night only from 7pm when our gin suppliers including Gorilla Spirits, with their new Silverback gin, and Chilgrove, who supply the pub's wide range of current gins, showcase their wares with exciting mixer combinations inspired by Fever Tree.
Pre booking is essential as an entry fee
of £10 gets you three different samples

ver the next few months we see the hosting of a number of festivals in nearby Arundel and in East and West Sussex (more details below) celebrating food and drink, two matters which are close to our heart here at The George - as of course is Valentine's Day on Tuesday 14th February, which offers the perfect excuse to treat your better half to a rather special meal in our newly refreshed surroundings. Have a look at our Valentine's Day menu HERE and please book your table well in advance as we tend to get booked up very quickly.

Mothering Sunday

hilst you're showing appreciation for the ladies in your life, why not show Mum just how much she is loved and appreciated by letting us cook for her on Mother's Day, 26th March? As the clocks go forward on that same day we are into 'Summer hours' and hence we will be open both Sunday and Monday evenings. Being a popular date, if we are fully booked on the Sunday, maybe Saturday or Monday...?
NB: a £10 deposit is required for meals

Arundel Farmers' Market

n Saturday 18th February 2017 from 9:00am to 1:00pm, Arundel town centre is virtually taken over by the regular Farmers' Market with some 40 stalls, selling fresh produce and local products - all from within a maximum of 40 miles from the town. It makes for a great day out to peruse the provender and then drive out to Burpham for a leisurely lunch or evening meal - and you'll possibly be eating what you've been viewing, fresh from the market.

Sussex Food and Folk Festival

he Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton, West Sussex (above) hosts the Sussex Food and Folk Festival from 29th April to
1st May 2017. Just 16 miles from Burpham it makes a great day out to take in the festival and then repair to The George for a well-deserved treat of a meal.

Monday - Friday: 10:30am - 3pm, 6pm - 11pm (Summer),
closed on Monday evening (Winter).  

Saturday: 10:30am - 11pm,  Sunday: 10.30am - 10pm.

Monday-Friday: 12 noon - 2:30pm, 6pm  -9pm.

Saturday: 12 noon - 3pm, 6pm - 9:30pm.

Sunday: 12 noon - 4pm, 6pm - 8.30pm (Summer).
12.00 noon - 5pm (Winter).
