The George at Burpham Newsletter

"By the locals, of the locals,
for the locals . . . and a very
warm welcome to everyone!"

et’s ignore the depressing wet weather and the rapidly decreasing
temperature outside . . . and look forward to the Spring!
This is the very best time to enjoy a mid-week lunch or dinner - when it’s peaceful and relaxed - to make you peaceful and relaxed, and to lift your
post-Christmas and New Year spirits.
We are offering a ‘Retox’ selection of healthy dishes on our current menu, to help you feel better inside after those Christmas excesses, and we are currently planning to mark some special dates during February and March . . .

urns Night falls on 25th January and whilst we won’t
be having a pipes band in the house to accompany the ceremonial serving of haggis, tatties and neeps
(they're actually on our menu!) we will be offering some special dishes to commemorate the Bard on that special evening. Plus a wee dram to warm you up . . . ?

othering Sunday always gets booked up well in advance, so consider coming on Saturday – or on Monday. The head of the house will then have 2 days to enjoy being spoilt!
Valentine’s Day similarly never needs promoting as we are always busy
(so book early!). Our special menu is on the Saturday 13th but why not consider treating the love of your life to a meal - lunch or dinner, here on Sunday instead – or as well!

Easter – repeat all of the above.

nd although Mums might not be
 quite as interested as Dads
(or will they?), the RBS Six Nations Rugby tournament is upon us from February 6th. We plan to show the TV coverage of England’s matches on our discreet drop down projection screen (sound turned down) so keep these dates free and enjoy a pie and a pint (or something more refined)
whilst watching them play:

Scotland on Feb 6th; Italy on Feb 14th; Ireland on Feb 27th;
Wales on March 12th; France on March 19th.

ompleting a Spring Sporting Season, the Cheltenham Festival comes around from 15th March for three days - we look forward to the Gold Cup race and always have a sweepstake here. The race itself will again be shown on our projection screen. Come and join us to celebrate spotting the winner and making a fortune, over a drink and a fine meal to suit the occasion. Bring your fancy hats!

Our thanks . . .
Thank you all for your custom, support and great reviews during 2015.
We aim
to make 2016 even better and hope to welcome you here in
the near future.
